Builder Elected VP of Trade Group

Ray Venema of Susquehanna Builders has been elected vice president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association. The association, a news release said, is the voice of the homebuilding industry in Pennsylvania.

In this role, Venema will serve on the association's board of directors and will be responsible for overseeing the association's activities on both state and national levels.

As vice president, Venema will serve as the liaison to all coalitions and task forces on which the association is a member.

Venema is a member of the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association, for which he has served as president. In both 2004 and 2008, Venema was named West Branch's Builder of the Year.

Venema was the Pennsylvania Builders Association regional vice president and legislative officer and is active in the association's government affairs committee.

Venema is also active in the association's Chesapeake Bay clean water initiative and the association's work to ensure the availability of affordable housing in Pennsylvania.

A graduate of St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Venema is active in Habitat for Humanity and is a member of the Williamsport Lycoming Chamber of Commerce.
